How you will create an impact

This role is a critical position contributing to the growth and profit of the Financial Lines division by underwriting new and renewal business across the Delegated Underwriting Authority (DUA) Financial Lines portfolio, you will be required to develop and maintain relationships with existing and new brokers, assist management with reporting, due diligence and governance requirements and work to carry out agreed strategies.

Key accountabilities will include but not limited to:

• Underwrite new and renewal underwriting referrals in accordance with set delegated authority guidelines, relevant underwriting authority and AIG principles

• Maintain accurate files, registers and records to contribute to management reporting and timely service and policy issuance

• managing and conducting underwriting audits and bordereau checks and ensuring DUA partners are adhering to the contract terms within their delegated authority

• Supporting the onboarding and development new DUA contracts in accordance with the global governance framework.

• Assist lead in monitoring and reporting of the ongoing performance of DUAs and binding authorities

• Manage and co-ordinate all DUA booking and administrative escalations with client policy service (CPS) team

• Assist in the ongoing improvement of DUA management by providing oversight on referral reason trends, servicing outcomes and training opportunities to increase facility parameter and product knowledge.

  What you’ll need to succeed

• Prior Financial Lines experience as an Underwriter or Underwriting Assistant

• Experience with Professional Indemnity insurance desired

• Understands key business drivers in the Financial Lines insurance segment is desirable

• Client-orientated with the ability to build and maintain successful relationships

• Proven track-record in underwriting financial lines insurance products

• Previous experience within a commercial insurance/finance/legal environment, including exposure to agencies and brokers

• Awareness of developments and trends in the commercial sector having insurance implications
